Below Elbow Prosthetics

A below elbow (transradial) prosthesis provides essential support and function for individuals with limb loss between the wrist and elbow. Custom made designs restore hand function, grip, and reach, enabling you to pursue daily activities, work, and recreation with confidence.

The prosthetic process is led by your prosthetist, who works collaboratively with specialists such as occupational therapists and rehabilitation consultant to deliver a coordinated and personalised approach to your care. Working together to tailor socket fit, suspension method, and terminal devices (hands or hooks) to your specific needs.

You can choose between passive cosmetic devices, body-powered hands (cable-controlled), or myoelectric devices that respond to muscle signals for natural movement.

Above Elbow Prosthetics

Above elbow (transhumeral) prostheses restore motion and utility for those with amputation above the elbow. These devices incorporate advanced socket technology and specialized elbow joints, combined with custom hands or terminal devices.

Each prosthesis is built to match your anatomy, activity level, and personal goals. You may select body-powered or myoelectric systems (activated by muscle signals), integrated elbow joints, and a range of cosmetic or functional options for enhanced grip, reach, and bimanual activities.

Partial Hand Prosthetics

Partial hand prosthetics offer customized solutions for those with loss below the wrist, including fingers or portions of the hand. Technologies range from silicone cosmetic restorations to functional mechanical or myoelectric prosthetic fingers and thumb options.

Modern devices such as Naked Prosthetics’ MCPDriver™, PIPDriver™, ThumbDriver™, and GripLock Finger™ allow precise grip, key, and pinch movements. Each device is custom-molded for natural appearance and adaptive function, letting users confidently return to work, sport, or everyday tasks.

Finger Amputation Prosthetics

Specialized prosthetic fingers restore essential grasp and manipulation for individuals with one or more fingers amputated. Naked Prosthetics, available through OAPL, offers durable custom fingers (MCPDriver™, PIPDriver™, ThumbDriver™) tailored to match the natural movement and force of the remaining hand.

These prostheses support pinch, grip, key hold, and general manipulation, improving quality of life and independence. Cosmetic options, colour choices, and improved comfort are prioritized in every fitting.
